Our children should not be used as political pawns.

Public trust in this new school board has been trashed. Firing Dr Asplen when he has received great reviews except for the one school board member whose children don’t attend our public schools, is unfair and lacks integrity. No candidates of quality will want to come here, only tools of politicians with ulterior motives. And just exactly what are the new school board members motives? These schools belong to all of us, not just one noisy parent political group. Generations of us have attended these schools, worked hard for them, donated to them, volunteered for them,. Keep Dr Asplen, I was on the citizen’s committee he interviewed him during the last search. He was a stand out then and he is now.

Karen Rose please resign. What you are doing is wrong. Getting rid of a Superintendent that has done an outstanding job for our children for your personal gains (political and destructive) is unacceptable. You are a disgrace to our Sarasota County School Board. I just remember all of the teachers that believed in you and voted for you. What a shame.

I am outraged by Karen Rose as well as the other 3 new members and fully support our A+ Superintendent.

Sarasota deserves to be heard as a community. Dr. Asplen has a great record and was treated terribly. The majority of the school board is a national embarrassment.

Such a shame this politicizing of everything, including education. Cooperation has fallen away on all levels of our society.

Rose needs to go. So does Ziegler and the entire Nazi crew. Pathetic. I’m from the DC metro area and I’ve never seen anything like this. Despicable.
