This Board has lost the trust and confidence of the Sarasota County parents and grandparents of public school children. The impacts include loss of funds from the school budget to pay to pay the current Superintendent to leave and at least six months before a new Superintendent can be up and running. The decision by the Board was political and not placed on performance.

As a prior sub for Sarasota Schools and former Indiana educator I was impressed with Sarasota schools. Unfortunately, public education has taken a tremendous “hit”. Children in Sarasota deserve better.

The supt has done a good job of implementing board policy. It is not his job to make policy. This new board majority doesn't seem to know what school boards are supposed to do

I am appalled by the actions of this schoolboard. They are not acting in the best interests of our children.

Very Disturbing. Vote to dismiss at first SB meeting with new Board Members. All Performance reviews positive from Superintendent.

Recall the group. Sets a very bad example. This was 19th century management. We need leasership.

Please let's restore honor and integrity to the school system. Children are the absolute worst people that you should pollute with your misguided ideas

This is about destroying public schools from the inside, replacing it with privatization, without transparency and accountability.

Please reinstate Asplen

It is shameful that Dr Asplen is being dragged through the mud by people who have NO INTEREST in creating a great environment for children to learn and thrive. The saying “you can’t fix stupid” is applied perfectly to this situation.

It's difficult to imagine how this Board could have set a worse example of mature adult behavior for Sarasota's children.

I’m genuinely scared for my son to start kindergarten. I’m scared to go back into the classroom next year after taking a year off. I’m shocked that this county I’ve loved to teach in for a decade has grown to be so divided and political in the schools. We have to fix this.

Fragile adult egos and partisan political agendas should not define public education in Sarasota County unless the goal is actually to destroy public education in Sarasota County. It appears that is the goal.

Stop the politics and retain or acquire the individuals with the skills to put the communities children first.

Our schools should remain as reason-based non-for-profit , and non-discriminatory.
