Our children should not be used as political pawns.

ZEM+R obviously violated the sunshine laws or had a divine simultaneous inspiration to ask for Asplen's resignation. They obviously never thought about it previously as it was never mentioned during their campaign.

The school board needs to be removed.

It's clear that four of the five school board members want to indoctrinate our children into an ideology of ignorance.

There is NO good reason, other than punitive, to do this - and that's no reason at all. The new board members are clearly showing their incompetence and/or fealty to forces that have nothing to do with what's best for the schools, students and staff.

KAREN ROSE MUST RESIGN.

As a parent with two kids in Sarasota County Schools, I am asking you to please work to keep Dr. Asplen as superintendent.

This is unexcusable leave this man in his job!

Students and Teachers first!! No time for playing politics and negligence of duties... Karen Rose and Bridget Zeigler must go, and the rest of the board, sans Tom Edwards, definitely needs training, as is obvious from their last mess of a meeting where none of them knew what they were doing or what the procedural rules are.

I fully support Dr Asplen. He has done a wonderful job and doesn’t deserve this treatment by a vindictive new school board

The divide between the supporters of the previous Board and Mr. Asplen and those behind the new Board (and against Asplen) ran very deep. Those who wished for a new Board and new Superintendent were in thrall to allegations about CRT that could only be entertained if one never set foot in any classroom. In brief, the allegations against the previous Board were purely fictitious, defamatory, and libelous. Those who chose to believe them were choosing the opposite of learning, the antithesis of education.

When newly elected school board members begin by attempting to oust a highly respected Superintendent without cause, it's time to admit that this isn't about the students! Radical right wing politics should never be allowed to influence decisions about the education of our children.

You can't convince anyone that having NO official superintendent is better than having our current one. Very foolish behavior brought to you by the new anti student & anti parent school board.

I am exhausted from reading all about the whitewashing of our school district, American history, as it really was, and Bridget Ziegler thinking she can buy her way through the town. Our kids are not tools for your political agenda.

Admit your mistake and undo this damage to our schools.

Retain Asplen Remove Rose

Focus on the kids, support the public school teachers, get Board training, and leave personal feelings at the door.

As a retired teacher, I am appalled at the behavior of the school board.

Keep Asplen, get rid of Rose.

Karen Rose is a disgrace to this county that is illegally representing a district she does not live in. Keep Asplen and remove Rose.
