I am concerned that firing Dr. Asplen is a political move that will harm our schools and students. I have no confidence in the school board with the exception of Mr. Edwards.

As someone who worked for Sarasota County Schools for 25 years, had a daughter who went through the school system, and have a grandson in elementary, there are no words to describe how appalled I am at this school board. Karen Rose needs to step down immediately: her actions are unconscionable. Did she violate the Sunshine Law? Bridget Ziegler is using this board to further politicize her goals. The two newest board members had absolutely no right to vote on dismissing Dr. Asplen who has done an exemplary job leading this school system under the most difficult circumstances, considering their very limited time on the board. Who does this Board propose to replace Dr. Asplen with? Some proud boy who supported them or Moms for Liberty who will mindlessly follow their agenda?

Rose, Ziegler and Enos must resign…if not, how about a class- action lawsuit by the citizens of Sarasota County! Public education must be protected!

The board's political machinations have been revealed through the ouster of Dr. Asplen. The county has fallen asleep at the wheel, and allowed the election of these radical partisans to the school board. It took the termination of the superintendent to open some eyes, and with time, they will be exposed as people who ultimately do not believe in public education, and have infiltrated into the system to destroy it from within.

School board should work to make kids education better not use them for political pawns!

As a 35 year resident who had a daughter go through SRQ schools and do well, I am outraged at these board members. They have also violated sunshine law from my prospective.
