Do not fire Dr. Asplen. The highest standards of education must be upheld and must not be tarnished by politically-motivated feelings. Thank you.

Our family has lived in Florida since the 1850s! Thanks to a Wonderful Public Education system, our family has thrived. We have no use for those carpet baggers who want to rob our state tax dollars and run when their "schools" go belly up and they leave the state...with our tax $$$!

Stay strong and keep fighting. Your kids are too important to let the know-nothings take over.

We have to take a stand against this politically motivated attempt to undermine the integrity of our educational system.

As a conservative, I only support public schools once they drop reverse racism and silly equity programs. There is no such thing as racism and white people need to be respected by immigrants

The school board as it stands is a political stunt power grab by far right extremists intent on destroying curriculum and civil rights of students and staff. Shane on them.

As a life long Republican I find the actions of the four new members inappropriate and disingenuous

Termination of Superintendent Asplen is in total disregard of the welfare of public school students and their families and a needless expenditure of valuable public school funds.

The Sarasota School Board is destroying education in our county. Thankfully I do not have children in these schools. SRQ use to be #2 in Fl. Soon under the political leadership of this corrupt School Board it will be #50 behind Mississippi.

I’m disgusted by the political games being played by the new school board members at tax payer expense. Shame on them!

Don’t offer a backup compromise to involve the community in the selection of a new superintendent. The board takes its orders from DeSantis, not from the people of Sarasota, and he already knows who he wants to run this district. Someone as qualified as his Surgeon General, no doubt.
