I love our schools. Let's make this a time to come together and do something positive. We can do better when we have the will and we are speaking, listening and working together!

Why don't they cut the new programs coordinator and similar management positions , those are 100 grand per position instead of the poor teachers . After all without money for those activities there will be nothing to coordinate .

I have not seen the budget, so I cannot comment on much. I am WHOLLY in support of the concept, and this is beautifully written! I am in support of #6, but not in support of #7. Administration keeps talking about things being, "for the kids." They can be asked to skip their raises. Teachers have sacrificed much, and Salem's salaries are already too low in comparison to surrounding communities to attract - and retain - good talent. Turnover is too high already, and asking teachers to make that sacrifice will further strain retention, IMHO. THANKS FOR DOING THIS! #onesalem

We need to do better for our kids! I am a commited salem public school parent and I do not want to see all the hard work that has happened in our school (carlton) fall apart. The priority needs to be the kids and the teachers who work directly with them.
