Ottawa County, MI Board of Commissioners Ethics Reminder

The BOC is a standard bearer.

Actions have accountability, and Joe Moss absolutely needs to be held accountable for his. He has squandered taxpayer funds to further his agenda.

The Board confirmed the Ottawa County Code of Ethics Policy is not worth the paper it is written on.

Ottawa Impact, led by Joe Moss, wasted millions of our tax dollars on their own political agenda. They ignored their responsibility to the entire county, and instead served a chosen few. Joe Moss has not acknowledged the mess they created, the harm they caused citizens of our county, and I expect him to be seeking a new political office in the future. We must hold him accountable, as he needs to learn that his views are those of a minority, and that he is not untouchable.

Mr. Moss should be held adorable for the wasteful and very possibly illegal use of tax payer dollars to pay off his political allies.

We elected you to be better If you won’t hold Moss and look the other way are you doing your jobs?

We need to at the very least form a committee. The voters have no recourse until 2028, so the board needs to handle this themselves.

If the Board allows lies to be just “part of the process” the people will not be able to trust them. The board exists to serve the people, and we demand that they have ethics.

Ottawa Impact, lead by Moss when he was the Chair, has caused harm to our democracy and incurred millions of dollars wasted by Moss’s direction. He must be held accountable. To ignore it, means it will happen again by someone like him in the future.

This citizen has had enough of Joe Moss’ unethical behavior and blatant lies. His deceptions have cost this county and its taxpayers millions of dollars. I expect more from our elected officials and expect his peers to hold him accountable for his outrageous behavior.

Board members are accountable to the citizens they serve. They are responsible in how our tax dollars are spent. The board has the responsibility to look into any possible mis appropriations of money.

I support investigating Joe Moss for his actions in December 2024.

Hold Joe Moss accountable.

It is very hard to trust that commissioners are acting in the best interest of county residents when they won’t even look into complaints. I had higher hopes for this board, but the lack of accountability does not inspire confidence.

Lies and deliberate misrepresenting the facts in a private sector business setting would have consequences. A liar on staff breeds distrust with co-workers. Deception does not do well for the Corporation and Brand. The private sector and HR department would not reward lies and deception with continued employment.

Transparency begins at home. Lead with your own truth.

Not investigating ethics complaints will not make them go away. It just makes the rest of the board look complicit. We want to trust our leaders. Please make it easier to do so.
