They actually listened and are bringing back the classic boxes instead of that cheap plastic retail mess. I am honestly stunned because it felt like a total long shot when we started but the dolls are going to be safe again and that is all that matters.

I was looking at some older photos yesterday and the difference in the unboxing experience really hit me hard because the current plastic bags just do not hold the same magic as that crisp tissue paper used to. Honestly it is getting so frustrating to see those reports of damaged dolls coming in boxes that offer zero protection during shipping so please keep dropping your own experiences in the comments since someone from the company is definitely lurking here somewhere.

The packaging does not feel luxury like the American Girl brand should. It is also leaving marks in the clothing, and overall the boxes are not holding up. For items that are beloved because they are lovely for collectors, these do not work from a collectors standpoint.
Ag NEEDS to stay in its og packaging its one of the best the things about there stuff americangirlbrand has always been looked at as a doll to connect with them turning into barbie makes them like a barbie you can't bond as u could with an ag doll
I honestly don't like the idea of paying $40 for an outfit that is sewn into the packaging like a $7 Barbie outfit. It leaves holes in the items makes them look cheap right out of the box. Please, please keep the original packaging styles. They're iconic to the American Girl brand.
I have been an avid American Girl fan for over ten years. If I'm going to spend more money than I am willing to spend on clothes for myself on an outfit for my doll, I think it should look as exclusive as it is.
This is a great petition! I hate the new packaging; it's so cheap, and where I used to love keeping the boxes for sentimental reasons, I now am happy to throw them out.

I'm pretty sure I saw somewhere that the new packaging prevents stealing which is understandable but I wish they would go with something that doesn't look like Barbie!
