Wallmart destroys small businesses, sells low quality foreign made products and treats employees like servants

There are so many negative aspects to opening a Walmart in Monroe,where do I begin? Traffic, already horrible will become unimaginably worse. There is no room! Also, what of all our small business owners? Shall we just throw them to the big,bad wolf? Because that is basically what Walmart does, swallows up everything in a town. Come on people! Make our voices heard- pass this petition along!

It will be a disaster for Monroe. The roads can not handle anymore traffic. It will put over 20 percent of the existing businesses out of business. They approached us over 10 years ago and we turned them down.

A Big Box store of any kind is wrong for Monroe, it does not fit the character of the Town and any establishment of that magnitude open 24/7 is wrong on so many levels...Monroe needs business development but it needs the right kind of business.

Walmart sucks the life out of communities. Our small businesses will go out of business. Walmart gets HUGE tax breaks to come in, & gives nothing back into the community. Low paying jobs, without paying a living wage, no benefits!! Just remember part-time minimum wage earners are all entitled to food stamps, medical & prescriptions through welfare. So Walmart gets to skip out on paying a living wage & benefits while the tax payers foot the bill. Walmart is the WORST! OUT!
