NO WALMARTS IN MONROE! Their job quality is awful, their products are cheap imports and they ruin the towns where they are placed. I live in the heart of "Walmart country" now. Please DO NOT RUIN my home(town) with a Walmart!

absolutely not one good reason to put a Walmart or any large gross chain in Monroe. we have many small businesses who have somehow survived, this will knock them out:( support local and small when you can!!

I live near Rt. 25 and traffic is bad now, I can begin to image how much worse it will get. I moved up this way to get away from the gridlock in lower Fairfield County. So much for the quiet, rural town.

I live up the street in Newtown, work in Bridgeport, and drive through Monroe every single day on routes 25 and 59. The traffic is already unbearable during rush hour and on the weekends. I shop in Monroe very regularly, use the rails to trails system, and attend festivals in Monroe as a good neighbor. WALMART will affect not just Monroe, but surrounding towns, too. WALMART would make it nearly impossible for operations like Stepney Hardware and Benedict's Home & Garden to stay afloat, not to mention countless other businesses. There are WALMARTS all over, Shelton, Danbury, and a lovely town like Monroe DOES NOT need to add another one to an already sad number of this big box nightmare's list of victims.

Walmart is a retailer that will attract crime and cause local small businesses to go out of business. Right neat the property is the Pequonnock River that holds fish, which will be an environmental concern, especially with how Walmart attracts littering. Commute on Route 25 will get much worse than it already is. This will also cause the possibility of a pedestrian or bicyclist getting hit by a car while crossing Victoria Lane on the Rails for Trails.

A box store would kill every single small business in Monroe. Add minimum wage jobs for high schoolers by taking away family run businesses? NO THANK YOU!
