Tom McCann is an icon in wrestling and the city of kearney. I wrestled in the Kearney Invite for East High. I only won it my senior year. Every year in my weight, the finalists were usually in the state finals and the state champ was always at the weight. Pretty tough tourney. But Tom deserves recognition for that invite for everything he has done for kearney wrestling, unk and the state!!

Naming a tournament after him would be a fitting tribute to a man who has given so much to the sport and the countless lives he’s impacted.
