The Ontario
government should be devoted to reducing the poverty issues concerning our
province. The best way is to put money directly in workers’ pockets, eventually
get reinvested. Individuals are talking about working and making wages to get
away from poverty. Having the ability to pay your bills on time , pay
debt, and providing for your family. Common sense = financially
viable sense
Canadians are working at or below minimum wage according to Statistics Canada (2009), more than 800,000. Unfortunately, minimum wage has been frozen for three years in Ontario. We want it Unfrozen and Increased to $14 an hour. Then index it to the rate of inflation. is stated that increasing the minimum wage
to $14 per hour will put those below the poverty line above it by
10%. In Ontario, the minimum wage has been frozen for the last three years
(Workers Action Centre, 2013). The purpose this social action movement is to increase the minimum wage from $10.25 to
$14 per hour.
