i think dear time is great for children in the main school, I understand this will help them massively to develop reading skills. However for sixth formers this isn't beneficial at all, we are taking a levels, doing exams, wasting 15 precious minutes per lesson soon adds up and in this time we could have learnt something that could of took our grades from a c to a b.

Should definately be optional I don't want to be missing 1.25 hours a week of lessons to read when I could happily do that at home!

I totally agree with this, we should be spending more time working not reading, we are not year 7s they need to stop treating us like them and they need to think that dear time isn't all that important to us because we don't care if we read or not and we are not really going to start reading if we haven't these past few years. That school is a piss take!!!!!

I think dear time should be made optional to Post 16 students as we have our A levels to study for!
