For those who voted yes, next thing is you will be forced to pay for a "Go pass" then next is everyone needs to pay to share to cost for people who live close to school and doesn't need to commute at all. Votes Yes wasn't a smart thing to do to begin with.

As someone who takes Brampton transit followed by GO which I am already struggling to afford, I cannot afford to add the additional RU-Pass to my tuition. Even if I were to take TTC, I would lose the GO co-fare with this pass. I also further adjust my schedule to only commute back and forth from Toronto 3 days a week. Not only I am not saving ANY money from the implementation of this pass but it is costing me much much more than what it's worth to me. This pass increases my cost of living while decreasing those who already live near campus and do not have to pay expensive commuter fares. The RSU, as a representative of all students, should not demonstrate such a bias toward TTC users. For many, it is fostering an even more unaffordable and inaccessible downtown core. This pass is not only useless, but actually enforces a financial burden for many and students should therefore have the option to pay or not.

I’m an international student and living in downtown so I don’t need to use TTC. The international student tuition fee is already high so I hope this will come true. Thanks.

This is completely unfair for students who choose to live downtown or take the go and really only benefits the students who live on the subway line.

This is a disadvantage to many rather than a benefit. I live downtown and pay double this yearly cost PER MONTH so that I can walk to school. So, to force this extra unwanted expense on all students is extremely unreasonable.

I voted yes on the referendum, but the option to opt-out still seems like a valid one.

I take the GO and TTC on a daily basis, but even I don't agree with other students having to pay for a pass that is useless to them especially ones who still have to take GO to get to school

Not a fair election with a clear bias for ttc voters. Ads accessible only to ttc users, false information being spread...

I know personally already spend $400 a month on GO so another $500 of unnecessary ttc costs will be a huge problem for me and a lot of my peers who also take GO and solely GO

I pay extra to live downtown so that I'm able to walk to school and I pay insurance and car maintenance in order to travel to places. I feel this is unfair because after my 4yr undergrad I now owe an extra $2,500 in OSAP towardsy school debt.

I hope their would be an opt out as it would cost me less to keep reloading money on my presto compared to paying a set ampunt

Makes no sense to be FORCED TO PAY $70 a month when I purposely condense my school schedule so that I don’t have to pay extra for my 1) home town transit fare 2) my Go train fare and 3) the TTC. I use the ttc once a week, or possibly two times a week for next semester. Why do I have to be forced to pay this fare? I’m now LOSING money, compared to the people who use TTC all the time who were already comfortable paying their current fare just so they can save money.

There must be an opt-out option. At most, 50% will benefit, and the other 50% will pay them out of their pocket. This is an injustice
Absolutely unnecessary
