​Opposition to Proposed Townhome Development on Ramblewood Drive

Completely unnecessary to build in this area anymore.

Wasaga Beach residents

The last thing the area around St. Noel needs, is more housing, creating more chaos around the school for parents during drop off and pick up times. Not to mention, the area is already densely populated.

Changing the zoning designation from low density to high density near a school will significantly impact both the neighborhood and the broader district. This shift may lead to increased population density, resulting in higher traffic volumes and potential congestion, which could compromise safety for students and residents alike. Additionally, the character of the neighborhood may transform, as high-density developments often bring larger buildings and a different demographic mix, potentially altering community dynamics. Furthermore, the strain on local infrastructure, such as utilities and public services, may intensify, necessitating upgrades that could burden taxpayers. Overall, this zoning change could reshape the community's identity and functionality, prompting concerns among existing residents about their quality of life. It is advisable to consider relocating the townhomes to a different area, rather than placing them in such close proximity to the school.

Keep the green space!

This is absolutely ridiculous and should not be allowed to happen, many people aren’t even aware of this . You should be making everyone aware so everyone can voice their own concerns .

Enough with the housing!

Keep school zones safe. The last thing this town needs is a fatality. Ramblewood has enough houses. There will be NO space to expand for a school years down the road from now. STOP developments in the small spaces where animals and people have a serene space to walk with their pets and families.

There will already be an increase in the traffic once Costco opens. This will substantially increase traffic yet again. Ramblewood is designated as a collector road only intended to service the direct subdivision. It is not intended for the increased traffic that would occur if a high density housing project were built. The loss of the green space along the Carly Patterson Trail would result in loss of habitat for all species of plants and wildlife.

Please save Wasaga Beach environment!

This is labelled as EV and all that this developer wants removed to cram way too many homes in an area without proper infrastructure . Snow plows can’t maneuver on the narrow streets , and I doubt the new recycle trucks would be able to do so. The underground aquifers are never properly planned for in these developments- and we have already had one flood in the area. There are subdivisions that have halted but have plans for at least 75 more homes in the Ramblewood subdivision, and at least 30 more homes around Joanna Crescent. These should be completed before any new development is approved. The set back allowances asked for are not conducive to anything more than what looks to be an overcrowded poorly planned condo site built purely for maximum profit and no consideration for the residential family oriented neighbourhood.

I am extremely concerned where the water is going. The street is heavily travelled with cars stoping and picking up children.ir is too busy for a school and not safe to walk home. These homes will make a bad situation worse

The proposed project is utterly inconsistent with the Town’s goal of being a year-round tourist destination, with its natural beauty being the key attraction. There are better ways to go about development than the one proposed.

Protected land needs to be protected! A master plan was just created and it didn’t include this area for high density. Stand up and protect the land and the plan you just approved.

Why not develop outward instead of within.

This is an appalling abdication of responsible governance.

Please stop unreasonable growth in the Beach!

Sigificant Wetlands to prime building site. I lived here on 58 when all the flooding went down our street.

Wasaga Beach does not have the infrastructure to continue with these housing developments not to mention the negative effects it will have on our beautiful beach.
