Redistricting from a school ranked as #144 to one that is ranked #177 in Georgia.....Why would any parent support this? With this redistricting, is there also a plan to raise Matt Elementary's performance to achieve a higher ranking?

Concerned about the logistics of the elementary, middle, and high school. We are a military family who just moved to the area and picked our neighborhood based the schools and on having our 8 and 4 year old grow through the schools together and establish roots.

I believe that when new home developers and builders initiate a sub division, this is where and when discussions of where transient homeowners will send their school age children. Such discussions and decisions would be between builder and forsyth. New buyers that have left their previous school an be directed to one of the local schools based on availability. It is not fair to ask existing homeowners to remove their children from long established attendance and classmates so newly moved in children can ‘bump’ another child to move to an alternate school, teachers, students. It is simply logical to have long attending children continue where they are and have those moving in new sub divisions (from different school system) directed to schools with room rather than uprooting everyone. New subdivision planning needs to add this accountability.

I am opposed to the redistricting of Coal Mountain students to Matt Elementary at this time as CMES does not appear to be overcrowded. I suggest waiting one year will allow for more concrete numbers to be gotten and analysed.

Keep us at Coal Mountain! There are so many reasons including the fact that our other children go to the middle school and the high school there for the logistics would be ridiculous to go somewhere else.
