This should be up to landlords/homeowners.Housing is extremely expensive and sharing the cost of rent, etc, is essential for many students.

So, the City of Lowell doesn't want all that tax revenue generated by students renting apartments around Lowell? The City Council is blind if they don't see the benefit of students renting apartments in Lowell. Plus, the MA Fair Housing law prohibits discrimination against prospective tenants based on age, among other things.

This proposal is ridiculous. I choose to love off campus: it is my choice, as it is the choice of hundreds of other students at UML. We are all adults, and should have the right to make the decision of where we want to live, whether it be at school or off campus.

What’s the point in doing this? Why can’t two friends live together in a house. That’s a dream of so many people to have. Having your own house w your best friends is amazing.

I live in off campus with 4 of my best friends becuase the university could not find suitable for us. We do not throw parties or participate in any illegal activity. We keep our house peaceful and this ordinance violates the peace of our living situation.

The idea this is being voted on is ridiculous. It’s a tremendous attack on a students right to live where they want and will hurt the city.

If the property has more than 2 bedrooms then they should be able to live there. This would impact local economy as well.

It’s not fair that we can’t kive off campus most colleges are given that oppurtunity and also can’t afford to live on campus
