This is a petition in opposition to Central Water's Rate Increase on some of its customers in Daleville, Virginia. The Virginia State Corporation Commission has set a hearing date on the rate increase for December 6, 2016 in Richmond, VA, (case number PUE-2016-00065 http://www.scc.virginia.gov/case). Customers have paid higher rates than other local water companies for years. The water is very hard forcing customers to install water softeners to protect their appliances. Water meters are not read every month, and complaints go unanswered. Other Central Water customers in a different subdivision did not have the same rate increase as those in Ashley Plantation. The rate increase took effect 1/1/2016.

Worst (hardest) water i have ever experienced. Has been tested twice and is off the charts for hardness. I have 3 water heaters that need to be replaced. Drains do not drain well due to hardness build up in plumbing. Have lived in Ashley for 12 years. Water company should be ashamed of this crap they sell as water. Its also a shame that we cannot get access to the water across 220 in Greenfield. Not happy with this company at all and they should be put out of business.
Not only is the rate increase unjustified, no notification was given to customers. I personally called central water company several times with questions and never received a call back or my issue resolved.
The amount of the increase is unfair and unwarranted. Please stop this increase
The increase is not justified as water quality is poor and other jurisdictions including at least one serviced by Central Water has cheaper rates.
I am in confusion as to how Central Water can charge me different amounts each month when they do not show any usage on my bill. One month it is $20.00, and the next month it is $46.00
Poor water quality and the highest rates in the area. Western Va Water Authority is far more superior in price, service and quality!
I recently moved to the area and am appalled at the poor water quality and rates compared to other local areas where I have lived. It is horrible!

We moved here two years ago and the rate was fine until a higher- reading meter was installed; then our rate doubled. After adding the sewage rate to our water rate, we pay more than we paid in Roanoke County or people in Roanoke City and the water quality is not as good.
