Opposition to a 25-Unit Commercial RV Campground on Grove Lake

The traffic speeds off of Highway 34 on to 165th Ave (both north and south) are very high and dangerous for the children and people living in this vicinity. We utilize the roads several times a day with vehicles already exceeding 60 mph. There is no slowing them down. Children ride bikes, walk dogs, ride horses, and families walk on these gravel roads. Taking on another 25 families with 2 vehicles each greatly increases the risks of injury or death. This isn’t adding 50 cars on these roads….its adding over 100 cars on these roads, as individuals with a “lake place” often invite their brother and his buddies and their cousins and their girlfriend’s uncle’s friends to said campground. And NO ONE considers the dangerous impact their rate of speed on these roads has on people living nearby.

The committee should not be hearing this again. It was not tabled and denied in the last time.

Nothing has changed except for road access and reduced by 1 camper. I do not agree to have a campsite or anymore boats on this lake.

I strongly oppose this development on a natural environment lake. I especially take issue with a 15 boat slip.

We have already sent letters and signed petition as to why this lake can’t handle a campsite you denied it once Please deny it again nothing has changed and we don’t want a campsite next to residential area

It’s too small of a lake for this kind of traffic

This lake can't handle the proposed increased traffic. It would be at risk for introduction of zebra muscles (which are currently not observed in the lake). In addition, a reduction in forested and natural areas will increase negative impact to water quality.

Grove Lake is a small lake and not able to sustain a commercial camp site. Such a site would be detrimental to a beautiful rural lake.

Keep Grove Lake rural! Too many MN lakes are overdeveloped and busy. It's a great thing to go to Grove and not be subjected to the constant noise of jetskis and partying neighbors like so many other lakes.

Most people are year round owners, some existing business owners. There is great pride in the lake and I hope that is being looked at when decisions are made and wondering if the this will overload the lake. I am completely against this.

The lake cannot support this high of density on one 13 acre parcel.

The lake is way too small to host campers.

Grove Lake is not suitable for a commercial property. The campground is detrimental to the lake itself, the natural environment and the Bald Eagles that live on the corner where they are proposing this site. Changing a proposal from 26 to 25 lots and the location of the entrance road should not be a reason to approve this proposal.
