We are signing to strongly oppose any attempts to rezone Olive Branch residential community property to commercial. Specifically, we oppose the proposal to do so on the southwest corner of State Line and Germantown Roads. In fact, we instead strongly suggest that a permanent moratorium be adopted on any attempts to further commercialize residential property in residential neighborhoods in Olive Branch until and unless (1) all empty and underutilized commercial property has been exhausted, (2) a clear and pressing need for any commercial zoning can be established that will benefit the majority of parties in the specifically affected residential community and in Olive Branch as a whole, and (3) the character of the surrounding residential property in Olive Branch has changed so significantly as to possibly justify any such rezoning.
