The city finally backed down and rejected the Z12-065 zoning application. Those developers thought they could force this massive complex into our neighborhood against all logic but they were wrong. Keep your eyes open because we know they will try to push their greed elsewhere.

We oppose the zoning changes in Z12-065. We oppose the rezoning of 14.45 acres from PUD-8 to L-ARLD for a 208 unit apartment complex because it is not consistent with the area nor with the current Far North Plan of the City of Columbus. The highest adjacent density is 6.2 du/acre in the northern portion of the existing PUD zoning, with adjacent single-family on the west, east and south at lower levels.  An increase of 230% density which will proportionately impact traffic, schools and sewers.  There is only 1 access point to the development in an already congested portion of S. Old State and the planned widening of S. Old State will be a maximum-build project that won’t begin until 2015-2016 and does not taken into consideration this project’s impact; i.e., current infrastructure cannot handle the additional traffic that would accompany the proposed development. Further, open space is limited primarily to setbacks and central storm-water treatment areas.

The city officials can no longer pretend this is just a few angry residents complaining in the dark. This momentum proves the developers have zero mandate to steamroll our streets and ignore the Far North Plan.

The city needs to look at the massive traffic increase this will cause. It makes zero sense to approve this.

NO! We do not need more apartments on Old State. The infrastructure is not set up for it at all.

Traffic on Old State is already a nightmare. Why add 200+ apartments right there when the roads cant even handle what we have now?

Keep our neighborhood density where it belongs. This is way too much for our quiet area.

Totally disagree with this project. My kids go to school right by there and it is already way too crowded.

Please listen to the residents. We bought here because of the current plan and this ignores everything we were promised.
