JJ and Pleasant Ridge shouldn't change anything. Joining the schools would cause more problems.

I don't think it is in the best interest of families to separate siblings at such an early age. Younger children find security in knowing their older siblings are in the same building.

PR is not up to the same standards as JJ is. I've had two of my kids each tried PR and I've found JJ is much better in all ways possible. PR should step up and be like JJ then maybe the concerned parents would consider it a good idea to merge.

I love Jonathan Jennings and the staff. If it's not broke please don't try to fix it. Everything about them is absolutely awesome and I'm not sending my child to PR I'd rather relocate all together

Transportation is a big issue for me. Picking up and dropping off children at 2 different schools will be a nightmare. Having 2 kids at 2 different schools won't allow my younger grandson to be at school with his older brother. This is a family concern for us.

After researching various elementary school configurations, I have found no academic evidence that it will benefit our students. In fact, research showed that academic performance drops during a transition year. I do not think it's a good idea to add a transition year in third grade when students are asked to take the ISTEP and the IREAD tests.

What about sports? We will have only one team for charlestown elem. All my others is the same as everyone else.

From what I have understood is that "unity" in middle school is the biggest concern and reason for the push of the merger. I personally feel that by doing the merger you are taking the "unity" out of families. I felt that the way the meeting was held to inform the community was a mess. In my opinion it did nothing but divide the community even more. I personally think we should wait to see exactly how big the community is going to grow and then solve the problem rather then go off of "what it's" you are trying to make a premature decision at the expense of my family and many others.

I think this has divided our community. Its just like the presidential race all over again. Something that was suppose to bring people together has just has everyone up in arms ready to fight over if you don't see it their way! So many other reasons I'm against.
