We the undersigned, as a part of the Iranian (Persian) community residing in the United States, have countlessly pleaded with a number of heads of U.S. governments, including the Obama Administration and the U.S. Congress to cut down on the unfounded, repetitious and rhetorical blames against Iran as to the purpose and intentions of its implementing a nuclear program.  But, while fully aware of the civilian nature of Iran’s nuclear establishment, the U.S. in its pursuit of actualizing the 19th Century British plan of the Great Games for domination over Central Asia and the Persian Gulf region, has concocted and kept up sanctions and war threats which in turn has been used as an excuse for building military bases, stationing hundreds of thousands of U.S. troops and declaring itself as a south-central Asian power.

For the same reasons that the British Empire failed in its strategy of establishing its supremacy over south and central Asia, the American empire will be unsuccessful in implementing its plan of establishing obedient and servile regimes in the region by forcing their people into servitude and then calling it democracy.

It was exactly with this plan of Great Games in their minds when four old-time and four newer U.S. senators famous for their support of greater war budgets and wider U.S.-Nato military engagements in Pakistan, Afghanistan and even Georgia, composed a letter to President Obama warning him against the prudence of any “compromise” during the current course of negotiations between Iran and the P5+1 powers.  With no surprise, the authors praised President Obama for his orchestration of the punitive unilateral sanctions against Iran, while inflating the specter of the so-called “nuclear Iran” supposedly “threatening” the Middle East region and the European and even the North American continents!

Was this letter an expression of paranoia or a plan of deception intended to fiddle the American people to accept the burden of another costly war, while the senators and the defense industries they represent pocket billions of dollars of the tax-payers hard-earned money?

What makes these senators’ letter an extreme and absolute case of political and congressional hypocrisy, is that it is void of any factual information so clearly stated in the documents released by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The fact that three Democrats joined the traditional pro-war conservative republicans doesn’t come as a surprise, because Senator Charles E. Schumer (D) has consistently and openly voted in favor of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee’s (AIPAC) objectives, and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D) is learning early to side with the militarists if there is going to be a large financial and political backing for her second term election.  She knows well that the seat of the senate comes with selling her soul to the highest bidders.

The American Iranian Friendship Committee (AIFC) appeals to all the peace-loving Iranians and Americans to join us in our letter-writing campaign protesting the war stance of these eight senators whose votes in the senate give support to the “military-industrial complex” and grease the tracks toward war and promote aggressive sanctions against the Iranian people.

Our message to our Iranian compatriots is that any U.S. military aggression and continuation of draconian sanctions against Iran would be primarily directed against masses of our people and our country of birth.  This time around our people at home may suffer much more than what the Iraq war inflicted on them, thanks to the fire-power of the U.S. arsenals surrounding Iran.

To the justice and peace-seeking Americans, our message is that your peaceful efforts in preventing another war on Iran and forcing a lifting of the unjust sanctions would be immensely appreciated by the Iranian nation and your signature will be honored and remembered for a long time.

Please sign this petition of protest and forward it to the Congresspersons whose contact information is below.  You can of course write your own protest letter and email it to the Congresspersons, but group signatures have a stronger impact.  The email links in this petition take you directly to the Senator's web page.  Your cooperation and solidarity with the Iranian people is greatly appreciated.

The American Iranian Friendship Committee (AIFC) was formed in 2004 for the purpose of promoting trust, mutual understanding and peace between Americans, on one hand, and Iranians living in Iran and abroad, on the other. Prompted by concern for the consequences of an on-going anti-Iranian U.S. foreign policy, the AIFC takes steps towards creating an atmosphere that dampens escalation of tensions and the drive toward war. We work with all interested in genuine peace and progress between the U.S. and Iran - ending the unjust sanctions, and preventing another U.S.-NATO war.
