The USHPA board has officially removed the proposal to ban tandem aerobatics from their agenda. We have secured a commitment to maintain the current regulations for tandem operations. I will continue monitoring their legal subcommittee to ensure no similar restrictions are introduced in the future.

If you've ever done a proper wingover on a tandem or would like to learn one from a tandem pilot in the future - then Item #4 (below) might stop that from ever legally happening in the USA. Help keep "Free Flight" exactly that.

Item # 4.Develop SOP(s) prohibiting tandem Aerobatics.

By signing this petition you are stating your dissatisfaction with USHPA and its Board of Directors attempting to limit free flight with preemptive regulation that has no merit in safety or promotion of our sport.

Updates

The growth in support has caught the attention of several industry representatives who are now requesting a formal meeting to discuss these proposed changes. I am currently drafting a letter to the USHPA board outlining our specific objections to the draft language. Expect a detailed summary of those discussions as soon as I have a confirmed schedule.

Leave us alone. We know the risks we take when we go up.

If a pilot is trained and competent they should be allowed to fly how they want. Stop the ban.

Ridiculous. Wingovers are the best part of the tandem experience. Dont take the fun out of flying.

This is total overreach. Pilot skill should dictate what we can and cant do, not some board of directors who are scared of a little G force.

USHPA needs to stop trying to regulate every little thing. Totally unnecessary and kills the spirit of the sport.
