Oppose the Frederick/Carroll County Waste to Energy Facility

"Public health and safety" trumps all other issues and considerations. It is well know that proven waste handling and processing alternatives are available to a "waste-to-energy" facility that emits toxic and carcinogenic effluents, and adversely impacts 22 neighboring schools; that is, approximately 11,000 children.

NO TO THE INCINERATOR! Our community includes school children and farm lands NO to POISONING our children and our food THROUGH DIRTY AIR, SOIL AND WATER! NO, NO NO!!

There are much better, more efficient and ecological solution. This incinerator is close the school. They will produce Dioxin, hevay metals extremly damaging for health and environment. I think the only benefeciary would be the current officials who are involved in the construction business and can profit from such a backward investment.

Keep the incinerator out of Frederick, MD. Protect the health of our children. It is too close to public schools.

Dear County Commissioners of Frederick County,
Please reconsider and do not sign financial agreements to proceed with building an incinerator in Frederick County. A large problem such as the amount of garbage we generate will not be solved through one pathway. Also, it is counter-intuitive to believe that starting a business that relies on lots of trash to keep solvent financially will enhance our community.
Please take the opportunity of Carroll County backing out of their financial commitment to pause and focus on other ways that can add up to reducing our landfill needs.

If the incinerator is built, I am absolutely positive that more and more people will move out of Fredrick county.

The incinerator is the absolute worst solution to our waste problem. There is no way to make incineration environmentally friendly.

Montgomery County our far wealthier neighbor to the south, has never been able to make their incinerator profitable. It runs at a substantial annual deficit, and they have to IMPORT trash to try to run it at capacity. Wheelabrator's incinerator deal with Harrisburg, Pennsylvania was so lop-sided Harrisburg went into bankruptcy in part because of the massive cost overruns associated with it. This incinerator project will ruin Frederick County as we know it. That's not the legacy I want to pass along to the next generation.
