Oppose the Expansion of the Hoffay Mine in Sand Lake NY

The local mining operators have proven themselves to be duplicitous liars. Troy Sand and Gravel's recent illegal mining in West Sand Lake near Stop 13 Road that resulted in legal sanctions is only one example. Stop the mining, stop the trucks and stop the noise in the Town of Sand Lake. This is a residential community now. The days of mining are over.

Our house and property on Summit Drive directly abuts the area that Hoffay proposes to expand mining on. The noise from mining expansion, truck traffic and the serious threat to our well water quality would be substantial and our property value would surely be negatively impacted. And as you must be aware, our local government is totally opposed to mining expansion in our town.

You are destroying nature and wildlife please consider this!

Have you ever stood next to your well casing when a blast from Troy sand and gravels under ground blast occurred ? I have .... I can’t imagine where the water table will be diverted to? #Got Water???

The potentially dangerous impact of mining on the residents' water supply is worrisome enough to halt the expansion of this mine.

This area is already under assault from development. This expansion needs a FULL environmental review.

I am worried that mine expansion will benefit the few at the expense of the many. We will bear the expense through increased truck traffic, soot pollution, noise and dust, wear and tear on our roads. Not a good deal for our town or the people in adjacent properties .

The noise impact on my property (1/2 mile away) will be unbearable.The crushers at Bonded(1 mi away) start at 7 on summer mornings and make it impossible sit on our deck and peacefully enjoy a cup of coffee.After the rock pounding comes the smell of asphalt wafting through the air and after that the plumes of dust rise from the pits.mall morning.This Hoffay gravel pit expansion will add to an already unpleasant daily summer experience.We are totally against expansion, crushers and loud diesel generators running so close to a residential area impacting our quality of life and our health.

Water is life.

Enough mining in our towns. They have grown way too big over the past 10 years. I’ve lived in the area for my entire life and we need to preserve our rural community, not decimate it.

No! No more huge trucks and the hideous noise of mining! Enough is enough!

Please no expansion! This mine has been a problem in our little town for years
