I oppose the density of housing planned around the Ralston/Hiller intersection. Traffic and safety concerns deterrent to our community. Let’s share the burden with the west side of El Camino.

I oppose this development in Eastern Belmont.

I live in Hiller St and am very concerned about the increased traffic the Masonic high rise will create. The City hasn’t solved traffic issues on Hiller for the past five years. Adding more housing units to East Belmont is only going to make traffic worse. Make new housing more equitably placed across all of Belmont. Not just in East Belmont.

I'm concerned not only about the traffic and most of the things already mentioned, but also about the logistics of the supply chain. Where are all these people going to shop? There is ONE grocery store in the immediate 'convenient' area. Infrastructure isn't going to support an additional 8,000 people in East Belmont.

After 50 years of living on Hiller Street in Sterling Downs, I can attest to the increase in traffic. The City’s proposal to increase housing, and consequently traffic, is more than our neighborhood can endure. I shutter to think that I may someday be looking out my front door to monstrously tall buildings, which should have been developed elsewhere. Over the years Sterling Downs has been subjected to ill thought out proposals by the City. Please spare us another one.

I am strongly opposed to the rezoning height limit of 65ft and the amount of new housing proposed for Eastern. The plans should fairly include development areas in Western Belmont.

High density is not the solution to housing. Being an architect, we see the lack of resources, high cost of construction, and lack of diversity in our community. Pushing all city problems to one part of the City MAGNIFIES the lack of resource, the lack of diversity and will create a vacuum in the housing industry, as renters will belong to one class of affordability and ethnicity and income. The city resources will still be spread to the high income groups.

Belmont’s current housing element is an equitable. Committing to the housing developments before an intense traffic study is done is imperative

The character and peacefulness of our neighborhood will be severely compromised with the building of a six story building. Traffic is already a problem and this would only contribute to worsening it!

Belmont has few businesses for a community of its size We need the Masonic businesses NOT a five or six story apartment building.

Traffic in in the morning in Sterling Downs is terrible. There are limited ways in and out already, it doesn't need to be made worse!

This also impacts South San Mateo. Those of us living in the Laurie Meadows neighborhood only have one way in and out, Laurie Meadows Dr. In the event of a disaster we will be trapped by the excessive number of people in the same location.

In Eastern Belmont we currently suffer from increased traffic in our small neighborhood. If all projected housing is done in Eastern Belmont, this will cause gridlock. Come up with another zoning plan that will spread new development equitably across all of Belmont.

This will destroy our neighborhood. I moved to the peninsula to be in the suburbs not downtown oakland.

City leaders, please spread new development equitably across all of Belmont. I am in support of more housing and more affordable housing in our city. However, I also want to see this housing spread equitably across the city so that it's not just District 1 eastern Belmont residents who are asked to bear the entire burden of this new development.

We pay taxes as Belmont residents just like the folks in the West side. Be equitable! Western Belmont has more space than Eastern Belmont.
