Oppose the Bike Lanes on Manhattan Ave and Franklin St in Jersey City Heights

I love in this neighborhood and often take this route in my way home from the grocery store on Central Ave. I hardly ever see any bikers around to have this make sense. The narrowing of driving lane for car traffic continues to make it harder on drivers dealing with electric delivery drivers who don’t obey traffic laws, pedestrians and further reduces much needed street parking.

This will impact my safety as I live on this street

Franklin Street should remain a two way street

"The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, or the one." Car owners far outweigh the number of cyclists in the City who barely use the bike lanes that exist already and certainly do not pay attention to the rules of the road. Interestingly there is no designation to enforce would cite that cyclists must actually use the bike lanes they demanded.

It is safety issue for the kids going to PS#8 School as lots of Bus and School bus were not able to move around during bike lanes as BUS 87 travels all day. cars heading to 1&9 all turns from Central Ave to Manhattan Ave during bike lane all were diverted to the Park narrow street were kids were playing. So need to move the plan to any another street.

I agree this ave is very important for winter

I like the idea of bike lanes but there are certain places that you just don't put them in. You have to be smart and think about the flow of traffic, on the street with cars and with pedestrians as well. For example the bike lane that was made in Journal Square on Bergen Ave was the worst place to put a bike lane because they have the bike lane then they have the people using the actual driving lane to park their cars and now to get on the bus you have to put yourself and your child/children (if you have) at risk by literally walking in theiddle of traffic to get on the bus. I don't know how many times I almost got hit by a car because I was trying to get on the bus. So I don't agree with putting a bike lane on Manhattan Ave or even on central avenue for that matter. Besides which there's enough problems finding parking with all these new houses going up everywhere taking up all the parking spot with their driveways and now you want to take more away by putting a bike lane. No thank you. Do it somewhere else.

Please do not install these bike lanes. It will be more of a headache for everyone in the Heights.

Horrific placement for bike planes. How about the long broken concrete path adjacent to Riverview Park or removing one side of the parking on the one way low traffic street adjacent to Riverview. It has immaculate views and the placement of the these two roads could not have chosen a worse area in the heights. If passed the heights will hurt it’s greater economy, quality of living and most importantly it’s large population of residents vs small tiny concertanted biker residents. These bikes and scooters congest traffic, make for unsafe roads and they more often than not make their own rules of the road hurting drivers who are actually properly insured to be on the streets. Do all these bikers carry property damage insurance? Pip coverage as required in NJ? No they don’t so get them off our roads

We are already dealing with a high amount of new people moving in as well with little to no parking already on every block. This is going to cause nothing but more traffic and mayhem along summit and central. It’ll just be a major inconvenience to those neighboring houses and blocks with parking and everything going on with further construction in the future.
