​Petition Opposing the ATX City Council Giving Away $278 Million in Our Taxes to Wealthy Developers

Let’s keep tax breaks for Austin’s residents. The investors should pay their own way.

I work for Dell and can barely afford my own home town. Also a graduate of St. Edwards’s University. We do not want to become NYC nor SF (SF is a nightmare to live in filled with homeless mentally I’ll drug addicts) nor do we want to be Houston nor Dallas. These ridiculous skyscrapers are not only marring our landscape but eroding the soul of Austin with its hideous ostentation.

Tax fairness for the citizens of Austin, not corporations.

I am so sick of "come here and we will make sure you don't pay taxes" to huge developers. AUSTIN IS FULL. STOP ASKING COMPANIES TO COME HERE!

If you’re going to give away our money, give it away to teachers so they can afford to live in Austin. Build a damn homeless shelter! Cap property taxes - all of them - for seniors.

At this point, a TIRZ makes no sense in Austin. It is unnecessary to attract development and is a waste of tax payer resources.

Help preserve Austin from outrageous cost of living increases. Spend our tax dollars helping our existing citizens vs. giving it away to wealthy investors.

I’m in danger of losing housing in the town I built my small business in!

Stop spending our money! Cost of living too high. Taxes too high!

Taxes are much too high! Voting NO on any future bonds when the city is giving my high tax payments to the wealthy.

We cannot afford this as homeowners, neighbors, retirees, college students. It makes long time Austinites move away and young Austinites be unable to afford rent, much less home ownership. Stop.

Property taxes are killing property owners. Totally making affordable housing a vision in the rear view mirror!!

This is infuriating… Our city roads are in absolutely horrible condition and I’m constantly having to get my cars realigned from potholes and constantly swerving off the road and into the other lane to avoid holes, wagon ruts, and dips in the road etc. and no matter how many times I give detailed reports to Austin 311, they never do squat! I’ve honest to God been down dirt roads that are smoother than some of these city roads… How much worse do they have to get before something is done? What will it take, class action lawsuits just to do what you’re supposed to be doing anyway? Guess this answers the question “Where are all of the millions in tax revenue slated for city roads going these days?” Not to the roads, that’s for sure…

They should pay just like everyone else has too.. Austin has gotten money hungry without worrying about the little people who are out there with no place to live & are getting evicted because they can't afford to live in places because of all the big companies coming to Austin. I wish all those companies would go back to where they came from and take the people with them...

Give to help rescue animals and people out there on the street
