This super desirable land/location. It needs no tax incentives for development. Take some tax burden off homeowners, use it for libraries, parks, or affordable housing, but make developers pay their fare share! DO NOT giveaway our $278million of our tax dollars to developers, who do not need nor deserve this insulting proposed TIRZ.

The best piece of land in Austin needs a development subsidy?
And the City might return $287 million in free infrastructure?
And is that rain that City Staff is dribbling on our shoes?
If ANYBODY on the Council votes YES for this, I want whatever they are smoking.
C'mon developers, you can pay your own way. Especially here.

I don’t any developer should need incentives to develop such a valuable property.

No tax subsidies for development! Our taxes should serve the community, for example, improving parks, sidewalks, libraries, housing for homeless people, animal welfare, senior services.

As with many other things, Austin City Hall has done incredibly slipshod, predetermined "thinking" on the TIRZ (pronounced TURDz). The City assumes that the SCWF's property appreciation (over normal growth) is all attributable to the public paying $278 million for the infrastructure. There is an obvious flaw: the City does not attribute any of the development's appreciation (from $850 million today to over $8 billion) to massive zoning entitlements (up-zoning) that will be granted the developers. The SCWF plan envisions the developers will get at least an additional FOUR MILLION SQUARE FEET of additional capacity. (2016 SCWF Vision Plan appendix, p. 48).
There is no value to these massive entitlements? BULL TURDZ. The up-zoning is the indispensable factor making this massive luxurious private development possible.

The day to end these developer give aways should have come long ago. We can't change to past, but now is the time to stop this nonsense. Why should we keep paying for development that does little or nothing to work toward the goal of keeping Austin affordable?? There are far better uses for our tax dollars.

Austin has given developers enough - they drag their sack through Austin and leave us with the bills!

This kind of development needs no incentives. If it needs infrastructure to go forward, that cost needs to be in the developer's pro-forma because I'm not paying--even indirectly--for one more of these!

Tired of supporting unsustainable development! Tired of being hosed for tax money by my city and county only to pay developers to change my city beyond recognition while exiling the economically challenged.

Stop the tax subsidies! The South Central Waterfront is rare prime waterfront real estate and will develop without the TIRZ or other massive giveaway. Find another way and use the funds for affordable housing or providing safe housing for the unhoused.

These developers are going to reap millions from this prime (not blighted) site. The tax money should go to parks, libraries services for the general public not these elites. They will not miss a meal if they don't get the tax breaks.

No tax subsidies fro Endeavor!
Let the developer contribute through their taxes to "Better living" for Austin citizens.

Development will occur in this area without the City of Austin investing public funds that are desperately needed to purchase land for affordable housing, and maintain other public facilities that all Austin citizens use. The area under consideration for TIRZ is NOT a "blighted" area that would not develop on its own without City investment. It is prime lakefront real estate. A TIRZ will not create affordable housing in the SCWF area. This is using taxpayer funds to benefit private interest.

This is the worst proposed abuse of Austin taxpayers funds that I have seen in over 30 years. The right number for developer welfare is ZERO dollars.
Current residents of the area affected should be notified immediately.
