Stop the madness of providing tax relief for the few, while funding other bizarre give away programs like offering $1,000.00/Month to 85 Austin families to see if it makes their lives better. Then pay the administering external company another $500K to hand out the free money. If the Austin City father's have so much money, why not make our city safer and better fund the police and fire departments?

We have subsidized enough development in this City and have, in turn, sold the soul of my home town. How are we the people expected to maintain any kind of life in Austin, when the urge to build continues to outweigh the interests of our people over and over again. It's outrageous. I grew up in this City. What it has become continues to break my heart, as the sheer greed of development bleeds it dry. No more of our labor subsidizing the continued pillage. Enough.

The City Council should Invest this money in the city's crumbling infrastructure and to help solve the issues of hunger and homelessness in this city. They should not be underwriting profitable private companies for any reason.

Giving a 278M Tax subsidy to rich developers for the SCWF is ridiculous to say the least. This is not a plot of land that could not be developed otherwise. It is some of the most valuable "underdeveloped" property in the city. A city that is one of the fastest growing in the country. Given what many of us pay already for housing taxes, such a move is ridiculous to say the least. A TIRZ, or any other mechanism, to a pay, directly or indirectly, with tax payer dollars should not be approved. Thank you.

My household is on a fixed income. I have seen my new property value. If Austin and Tavis county continue to raise my taxes I will join the homeless population.

Read the USA and Texas Constitutions. The frivolous use of our money is nowhere authorized! In fact what the authorities are doing is prohibited. If you coherse citizens who get taken in by misleading information there's a word and definition for that also.

I moved out of Austin two years ago because of taxes. I'm still in Travis County (Pflugerville) and this does affect my taxes.

I'm outraged by the fact that City Council Members have belligerently lied to me via email and conference call about these matters. Austin City Council should be ashamed of themselves by intentionally giving private equity tax value over their own citizens. This is a violation of our state rights and must be rectified immediately.
