Oppose the Airline Ban on Transport of Legally Harvested Animals

THIS BAN WILL ONLY HURT WILDLIFE CONSERVATION EFFORTS. LACK OF FUNDS IN LOCAL AREAS ONLY ALLOWS MORE POACHING.

My rights are being discriminated against as a law abiding hunter harvesting legally obtained trophies.

Please allow all legally harvested trophies to be shipped on your airline!

This is utterly ridiculous on the part of the airlines and is nothing more than an overly broad knee-slap reaction to the recent activity of moron professional hunters (and I use that term very loosely in this situation). All this ban does is punish those who travel for safari and other hunts around the globe, legally harvest animals, and pour hundreds of thousands, if not millions, into local, often third world, economies. The airline ban punishes law abiding citizens, devalues game species of all types by deterring hunting, eliminates much needed economic influx provided by hunters into impoverished areas around the world, and does absolutely nothing to stop of even stem the ever growing problem of poaching and black market trade in illegally harvested wildlife. I am headed back to Africa in the very near future and I can say that my travel decisions and patronage, although more time consuming and expensive, were made in efforts to avoid carriers who have enacted this unnecessary, unjust and prophylactic ban on the transport of conversation minded and legally harvested animals.

Please use common sense and don't bow down to extremists who have no answers to the problems of Africa's wildlife!

Eliminate the airline ban on legally harvested animals.

US airlines recently came out with a ban on a number of legally, huntable African trophy animals. The ban was done in the wake of the “Cecil the Lion” hysteria. As a hunter, I am disappointed by the instituting of a seemingly arbitrary ban on legal commerce. What’s next? How about banning blue suitcases or green duffle bags? Airlines just seem to be pandering to the un-informed public. It seems to me, when a transportation company is designated a common carrier, it should not refuse legal and safe cargo. The banned animals, commonly known as “The Big 5” are trophy animals that are well regulated by national and international laws and conventions. Please reverse this arbitrary ban.

African wildlife is a treasure to be protected. Governments protect wildlife because hunting creates financial value on each animal. In Zimbabwe most animals life has been poached out of existence except in Wildlife Refuges and Safari areas. The presence of hunters along with their professional guides and park rangers discourage poachers and provide the revenue to protect the continued existence of African Wildlife. Without hunting those Safari Areas will be settled by subsistence farmers who will poach wildlife until it is extinct. Airlines ban of trophy shipments may actually harm to the future of African Wildlife.

Please reconsider your decision. you are doing more harm then good. Punishing the people that hunt and the people that are trying to make a living in South Africa this way is wrong.

These policies are ignorant and misguided. Contributing to the destruction of big game hunting in Africa will certainly destroy the animal populations of Africa in short order. The liberal mind set that hunters do not care about conservation is short sighted and unfounded. Hunters are the greatest conservationists on the planet and these policies are just plain stupid. I will personally boycott all of these airlines until these bans are lifted.

Sad day when this political correctness BS is allowed to affect law abiding people! Hunting is legal and it's a farce if hunting stops the animals will flourish, without hunters and the money generated from them to protect the wildlife most of the large dangerous game would be wiped out!

I will not book travel with any airline that has this policy
