If the animals are taken during a legal hunt then we should be able to ship the mounts.

Hunting for conservation doesn't exist, it only leads to the decline of species. There are only 15.000 lions left in Africa. Hunting doesn't do anything for the local economy and doesn't help the local population, the money only goes on offshore bankaccounts or in the deep pockets of corrupt gouvernment officals. Please stick to the ban, millions of people worldwide will salute you for this.

My husband and I both fly multiple times a year business class - that totals at least one or two employees salary! This ban on shipping trophy's is ludicrous. I run a private game reserve with many rare species in S Africa. Airline embargoes undermine our conservation efforts as USA hunters are the main revenue earners that fund the upkeep of our wildlife.

Trophy hunting is a sustainable use of the resources of the land. Selective and legal hunting is for the benefit of the species and habitat. Banning the transport of legal trophies is a ridiculous notion. It is a perfectly legal activity in many parts of the world, many of those parts are poor and welcome the revenue and jobs generated by hunting. Banning the transport of trophies is much like shutting the stable door after the horse had bolted. It's a stupid idea brought about by perceived public opinion, most of that opinion is uninformed.

I am a ranch owner in Africa and have sheep and goats on my property. I have also invested large amounts of money in game. I currently employ 10 percent more staff then neighbouring ranchers. Solely because of the game on my ranch. South Africa has more game on private ranchers than anywhere in Africa all due to hunting in this country. I feel that an air embargo would be detrimental to conservation efforts in South Africa as no funding will result in game being shot out of private Ranches South African big five is not in danger of extinction , they are protected and have resulted in large increases in private populations over the last 50 years. I urge you not to destroy the conservation efforts in South Africa by private land owners .Please research these facts with the Department of environmental affairs of South Africa a government department as well as Wildlife Ranching South Africa a private organisation involved in the private game industry.
