Oppose the Airline Ban on Transport of Legally Harvested Animals

Penalizing hunters for the actions of poachers is rediculous.

Many of the African animals are taken with Us Cites permits - Legally and ethically hunted!

I keep hearing the same talking points. Ethical. Legal. Sustainable. I'm not buying it. Airline carriers see the writing on the wall. Sport trophy hunters are SLEAZY. There is nothing ethical about raising animals in captivity so a fake hunter can say they "harvested" an animal in Africa....There is nothing ethical about baiting a protected collared lion into a concession without a current lion permit and use spotlights and a crossbow to injure him. After a nice breakfast at camp they did finish him off- decapitate him, skin him, and then dump his carcass in the weeds . That damn collar prevented a quota transfer. Not any LION, a LION that was a massive tourism generator The documentary BLOODLIONS will be shown in the States starting in September. When people realize what these breeders/farmers/ do to iconic species like lions, namely, reducing them to a mere commodity to be collected, how do you think people will react? South Africa defends the practice of canned hunting. Safari Club International defends and promotes canned hunting trophies in their record books.... Ethical? The SA Hunting Assoc is very nervous. After the statement they put out concerning the impact canned hunting has on the image and perception of hunters and "hunting." - the canned hunters in Safari Club gave them a 20,000 grant for PR to combat the anti-hunters!!!!! SCI has their own issues.....Infighting and accusations of corruption within the ranks....Who would have thought?

Quite frankly more shipping companies should stop shipping trophies. Make it the hunter's problem to get the head of their kill home. If a company does not want to ship the heads of dead animals, that should be their prerogative, not the hunter's. So, unfortunately, I an unable to sign this petition.

The trophy hunting industry has also been the instigator and cause in the growing practice of Canned Hunting. This is where Lion breeding farms (approx.200) are intensively breeding Lions (approx.8,000) for the express purpose of having them hunted within a confined area for paying hunters, who then later ship home the heads, bodies and skin of these habituated semi-tame animals. And the airline should not let the hunters go home either so that those assholes would stay in the country they killed the animal and pay for their crime....

Yet we are constantly told by hunters that they do this to aid conservation and that without them, many species would either be endangered or extinct. Mark Marineau is a hunter who runs a Facebook page called "Rack Em Up", it has over 15 000 followers...let's assume for now that only 1/3 of that are fellow hunters, and not ARA's who want to keep up to date with his kills...so that would be 5000 fellow hunters. Corey Knowlton is a hunter, who, in case you didn't know, is trying to hunt a rare black Rhino, and is currently fearing for his life, due to the ARA backlash on this...he has over 4000 friends...now I must assume that logically, any one who is a friend of Corey, must advocate his behavior and very likely partakes in hunting in some form as well. Aaron Neilson is a hunter, who, in case you didn't know, has been charged with poaching, and has killed more than 10 lions and has no intention of stopping...he has over 3000 followers...let's go with 1/3 again and say that only 1000 are fellow hunters. Ted Nugent, is a rock star, hunter, who has over 2 million followers...okay in all fairness probably 90% of that is his music loving fans...let's be fair and just say he too only has 5000 fellow hunters. Melissa Bachman is a huntress, who has over 30 000 followers, and again let's just take 1/3 of that, and say that 10 000 are hunters or sympathisers. Kendall Jones is a huntress, who has over 800 000 followers, and again I will say that not all are hunters or sympathisers. Before her sudden and massive rise to stardom she only had 5000 followers, and I'd peg only 1/3 of the resulting figure to actually be on her side, and I'll take 1/3 of that again to be hunters...so for Kendall we can assume the original 5000 + 75 000 = let's make it an even 80 000 people are hunters or sympathisers. These are just a few of the more prominent figures...now let's take into account the amount of animals they each hunt...Well we know all too well that Kendall has killed lions, zebras, leopards, rhinos, monkeys, rabbits, squirrels, bobcats, buffalo, hippo, elephants, and various other animals such as springbok

You've killed off your own continents and now come bootlegging here with your offshore bank account "rangers". Keep the ban on ALL airlines and shipping companies !

I have a question, why are Hunters so upset that they cannot bring a Trophy home? I thought Hunters were spending their $$$$ to save the world wildlife? That its for Conservation. Surely you should be as satisfied with the pictures you take, posing next to a dead Animal or the score on your card from the size of a skull....

Thank you to the Airlines who are focussed on taking passengers to places such as Africa so that they may spend many more millions than Trophy hunters on ECO-TOURISM Adventures! Hunting for a Trophy is not neccesary in the 21st century many other ways can be thought of to save the worlds wildlife, I also challenge the hunters to prove where their dollars go when they claim its on conservation and not lining the pocket of some private landowner breeding Animals to be killed. Hunting permits should specify have how much of that hunt has been paid to real conservation. Bravo to all the NGO's on the ground fighting to save species, who wouldn't be able to without the generous millions of $$$$ DONATED.
