This person was convicted for an extremely violent crime. Only 10 years was far too lenient in the first place. He should not be allowed back into the community where he's likely to re-offend in some way. He belongs where he is now.

The terribly violent and intentionally bloodthirsty nature of the attack by this individual cannot be dismissed. The affect to the victim and her family have been deeply traumatic and that will never leave them, they will be forever altered. The sheer force of the attack sent Shockwaves through the entire community. This assailant masquerades as a victim, an innocent. He cannot be allowed back into a society which has no mechanism to anticipate or deal with this level of violent depravity.
