Oppose Mask Mandate in Greene County/Springfield Missouri

Let people choose what they want to do.

I had to go to Jeff City today and they dont have mandatory masks there so why does Geene CO or Springfield?

Let’s use common sense and stop putting this unnecessary burden on folks. Our bodies are designed magnificently by our Creator God to fight disease. You’re losing business by having this “mandate.” I myself avoid shopping in Springfield and intentionally take my business elsewhere, sadly.

The masks do not prevent the spread of the virus. Look on any N95 mask or above and it will show you that the exhalation has no filter! Only an inhalation filter. So that respirator mask can only protect the wearer to some degree and not a bystander!

Masks should be a recommendation not a mandate.

I live north of the Empire Fairgrounds. I have common sense and know how to take care of myself. Social distancing is sufficient. Why play overlords of my and my wife's life. Please remove the mask mandate.

I do not agree with the mask mandate, I think it should be one's own choice to protect their self not the government! Furthermore I disagree with mandatory masks in schools it goes against the whole point of a mask when the CDC tells you that you are not to touch your face, these kids will be touching their face all day long and I do not believe that the teachers will be sanitizing nor monitoring the sanitization of these kids' hands before they touch their face in the process of fiddling with their mask, this mandate in the schools and for the city is ridiculous!

I do not feel this mask should be a mandate it should be a choice. I should not have to lose my life for someone else fear, I should not have to lose my business because of this. Small businesses are hurting and hurting bad. It to be the land of the free my brother and cousins fought for that and even died for it.

The mask mandate is absolutely absurd and now the Springfield School district is mandating their own mask laws, to enforce every kid K-12 wear them all day in their classroom! We should not only have a 'choice' for ourselves, but definitely a choice for our children! We are their voices!

I believe the Springfield school system needs to take care of this as well. It is grossly unfair that they are only sending our kids to school for two days a week for the same reasons listed in the lawsuit against the city Council.

Masks don’t stop or slow a virus. Let’s hear from the Doctors and scientists. Doctors use masks to slow bacteria not viruses. A paper or cloth mask has a zero protection factor according to NIOSH.

Yes I oppose this mask mandate that city Council has put forth going against all scientific data.

We have stopped all our business in Springfield other than dr apps since mask mandate, we use to be in Springfield 4-5 times a week. My husband does construction and use to buy his materials from Springfield almost daily. He has taken his business elsewhere. We won’t be back until the mask mandate is lifted as he has very bad asthma and the mask sets it off, and I am very pregnant and get lightheaded wearing a mask.
