Oppose Mask Mandate in Greene County/Springfield Missouri

Mandatory masking is unconstitutional, unhealthy for long term use, and, frankly outside the boundaries of this or ANY so-called city council to make into law. How dare each and everyone of the sitting council people to even consider such a tyrannical notion. This is a slippery slope; if this should become permissible, the further continuing of the loss of our liberty is certain. Make sick people stay home or wear masks, not otherwise healthy people.

There is a reason the most common mask worn is like a Surgical mask it doesn’t protect from viruses but rather from big splatter and people tend to touch their faces much more with a mask on. The N95 mask will not work unless you are fit tested for it and to my knowledge who ever wears one like that has not been fit tested. The mandatory mask wearing law is useless in regard to viruses unless it serves a different purpose...

It is wrong to force masks based on faulty data.

Let people take their own lives into their own hands. Those who do not where masks cannot affect the glove wearing masked others. I highly doubt clothe masks are going to protect from a contagious virus anyways.

It’s not legal to make people wear a mask. People are free to choose to on their own. If people are sick or have been exposed I hope they wear a mask or stay home.

I strongly oppose a mask mandate. Where there is risk there must be choice!

Forcing preschool, daycare, and day camp staff to wear masks hinders children's abilities to properly hear and see facial expressions as they are learning new works, sounds of letters, and social gestures.

Masks I can handle where social distancing is not possible. Mandates on healthy people however should not be the new normal. Good luck enforcing it if you do pass this. Additionally it is like telling half or better of Springfield that you don't care about their sales tax dollars because they can drive 10 minutes and get what they need elsewhere.

Absolutely unconstitutional as it does not apply equally! Far too many unnecessary and illogical exceptions. Plus, the logic behind the mask is that if someone wears a mask, they are ok regardless of whether I wear a mask or not. You don't quarantine or mask up the healthy.

No matter your motives, you do NOT have the legal authority to mandate mask wearing. Each individual is responsible for his/her own health, and is not responsible for the health of other individuals. This is an absolute NO from me.

Masks are not the answer. I already wear one daily since I work in a nursing home ...and Breathing my own air makes me feel horrible every day. My RA is no longer controlled....I am in pain every day. Masks are NOT the answer.

I don’t mind wearing a mask, because I CHOOSE to if requested... not mandated.

We shouldn’t be forced to wear mask for a virus that has a 98% recovery rate!
