Oppose Mask Mandate in Greene County/Springfield Missouri

This mask mandate in schools is absurd. My child will not be forced to wear a mask based on biased and incomplete data. This is in violation of our basic rights and I for one will not go quietly.

The mask mandate needs to end. If you feel more comfortable around the public with a mask on then that is what you should do but if you are opposed to wearing the mask then you should also have that choice. We do still have rights...right? I would never tell someone they could not wear a mask just as someone should not tell me that I have to wear a mask. Makes no sense when you can go to other cities who do not have a mask mandate and their Covid cases are not any higher and sometimes lower than places that tell you to wear a mask to enter a business.

Healthy people should not be wearing masks. Children should not be wearing masks at school all day. This will be causing bacterial infections and teeth/gum issues. Stop the Insanity!!!

It is the individuals right to CHOOSE if he or she wants to wear a mask. It is not the job of the city council or authorities to tell the people what to do. It is the people who give the voice of the officials and it is the people who get to decide what is best for them.

This mask mandating is a charade. One aimed at garnering funds for the city council to dole out where they have friends, or you know see fit to distribute. This is a gross misuse of power. Masks do nothing. And this virus has accounted for less than 1% of total deaths in the U.S. the CDC guidlines state that an epidemic must account for between 5 and 7% of total deaths. We are no where near that. Stop participating in safety theater!

Currently the mortality rate, using government numbers, is approximately 0.023. Similar to the flu depending on the year. What happened to flattening the curve? It’s been flattened. People should be allowed to wear masks or choose not to. To my knowledge there is no proof that masks work or don’t work. Also, a virus can’t travel more than 6 feet? I’ve seen studies conflicting with that as well. 10 miles away there is no mask order. I’m sure some people drive a few miles and spend their money in cities and counties without a mask ordinance.

Forced behavioral modifications are never a good idea, in time of crisis or otherwise.
