The best help we can receive from our government is in protecting our right to be left alone. We are already doing well with minimal regulation.

Common Core is a disaster and teachers know it and refuse to use it. I have talked to locals in the education department who refuse to use the books the government makes use because they are unfactual. If the teachers hate the books the government uses and they hate the mess that is Common Core, why force more kids to use the same garbage?

Lucas bill HB 1591 will impose unnecessary restrictions and limit the freedom on the manner we choose to educate our children. If your focus was more on protecting our liberty to educate freely, the merits of your bill would stand on its own rather than trying to buy your way in to impose more control. Thanks, but no thanks. We don't want or need your money or Trojan Horse premise. Vote no on this over-reaching and misleading bill!

I would prefer to pay for my own children's education just as I have for the past 24 years that we have been homeschooling. I think tax reimbursement for needy families for private schools would be a better way to go.

Indiana is currently a wonderful state in which to home school! Please do NOT allow the state to interfere with our choice and freedom to choose curriculum. We are informed parents and want the best for our children-which is why we have devoted hundreds of hours to education our own each year!

Homeschooling parents are doing a fantastic job of teaching and rearing our children. As one of the homeschooling pioneers in Indiana, I believe it should continue just as it is now. We don't need vouchers or government money. If you want to offer a no-strings-attached tax credit, that would be fine. Parents should be in charge of the upbringing of their children, not the state. This is not a communist country!
