Josh Meekings a defender from Inverness Caledonian Thistle has been handed a one match ban from SFA officials for an incident that took place in the Scottish Cup semi final match against Celtic on April 19th.

He has been retrospectively banned for what has been described as a deliberate hand ball and denying a clear goal scoring opportunity.

This sort of incident has happened in Scottish football all season and there are a number of examples when players have not been retrospectively banned.

The officials are the men who should be punished for missing the incident despite being no more than two metres from the incident.

If the official had admitted to witnessing the incident but decided it did not merit a foul then Meekings would be free to play in the cup final and could not be banned.

There is a lack of consistency from the SFA that they have to answer to us the fans who pay our money to keep them in business.
