This is all around terrible for all these children ( covid stole nearly two years of these quality years at elementary )

Move the PP back out, move the out of area kids back to where they should be and leave our kids in our school where they belong.

Only announcing this 2 months before school is over? Grade 6 kids crossing one of the busiest intersections in Dartmouth? What is happening with childcare? Some parents rely on excel and now have nothing and are scrambling to find alternatives. Some kids have issues with change and need time to adjust. Not only are they putting kids who are NOT mature enough in with junior high students, they are potentially harming the mental health of some students who are more vulnerable to these types of short notice adjustments.
These are just a few issues to point out.
There's clearly been no consideration about these issues and parents have not been given a chance to have a voice about their child's education. COVID-19 has robbed these kids of so much already and now HRCE is robbing them of their last year of elementary school.
Overcrowding is clearly an issue not only in schools but society in general but why move our grade 6s? Why aren't they moving pre-primaries? This glorified daycare should be the first to move to another building vs grade 6s!!

I wouldn't have been as opposed to the change if Ellenvale was going 6 to 8, but 6 to 9 does not seem like a proper thing to do, we had no day in the matter at all whatsoever

This change should have NEVER been made without informing the communities at all!!
You literally took the closet at school and then the FURTHEST schools and decided to change them last minute and leave family’s worried and scrambling!

It isn't right to allowed pre-primary to push our Grade 6 students out of their own school. The current Grade 3, 4, and 5s didn't even get to benefit from going to pre-primary themselves so are being robbed of one of their years at PEES. These are also the same students at PEES hit hardest by covid. A Junior High environment will not be good for such a young age group, especially where Ellenvale doesn't stop at Grade 8. The difference in behavior and maturity between Grade 6 and grade 9 is vast, and having 10 and 11 year old children around 15 year Olds rather than children younger than them is not going to be good for their mental health or development.

100% against this change, procedures were Not followed, this decision should be reversed.

I urge decision makers to explore alternative solutions that prioritize the students needs and welfare, and I do not see this reflected.

I am maintaining faith that parents and administrators will act together to ensure all decisions made will be made with best interests of our children as a priority.
