FWC (Florida Wildlife Conservation Commission) has proposed to place further limitations on the size of the antlers on a deer legal to harvest. The proposal will implement 10 new DMU (deer management units) throughout the state. 5 of the 6 DMUs to be placed in North and Central Florida will limit game hunters to harvest only deer that have at least three antler points (each point having to be at least an inch) on one side or have a main antler beam of 10 inches. Southern Florida will be restricted to harvesting deer with at least 2 antler points on one side or a main antler beam of at least 10 inches.
