Stone Gable Community Opposition of Proposed Construction of Dunkin Donuts

The Winter Springs Planning and Zoning Commission is currently reviewing plans for the construction of a Dunkin Donuts on the parcel located in front of the entrance for the Stone Gable Community. We feel that this type of establishment would significantly negatively impact our community due to the following concerns:
1. High traffic through the area, especially during the morning hours would threaten our young children's safety because it is directly next to the bus stop for Layer Elementary.
2. The higher traffic volume would make entering and exiting our subdivision much more difficult for our residents.
3. The proximity of a commercial building that is open 7 days a week and potentially 24 hours a days would be directly detrimental to the property values of the majority of our properties.
4. The noise, light and trash generated by such a retail establishment would be unsightly and a burden.
5. The heavy increase of traffic on the weekends would greatly reduce our community's ability to recreate as a community (i.e. block parties, etc.) due to reducing the safety of our residents, children in particular.
In conclusion we feel that a retail establishment generating this amount of heavy traffic, light, noise and trash would be detrimental to the beauty, safety and value of our community.
