We trust that the State will consider the submissions of this petition in opposing bail, in addition to the criteria already entrenched in the Criminal Procedure Act. On the face of it, it seems that the interests of justice will be best served in the refusal of bail in this instance (without of course having heard any submissions from the accused). A qualified or reserved objection perhaps?

No bail! Lock him up. We don’t need this in our community, attacks without any rhyme or reason.

Dangerous criminal and must be removed from society for a very long time. My thoughts are with the two innocent ladies who will carry this trauma with for the rest of their lives.

It is essential that this individual is not granted bail and be vigorously prosecuted for attempted murder

Don't grant bail to repeat offenders nor anyone who violently attacks older ladies who were simply trying to get fresh air during lockdown.
