We need to rentain our local target. There are no other large department stores in our town.

The Colac Target store is essential to our region for many reasons. Tourists, for starters, are drawn to shop in Colac, due to the availability of familiar and low cost retailers such as Target. Low income families also rely on this retailer to clothe their families and furnish their homes. Without this store these families are forced to either go without, or travel to Geelong, at greater cost, and therefore negating any perceived savings. Locals from surrounding areas frequent the Colac Target venue as well, and rely, to an extent, on the availability of Lower budget clothes, entertainment and homegoods within an hour of home. But also the convenience of having such a diverse range of products and shopping experiences, that travelling to a larger town (or city) center is usually not necessary; especially during Covid-19 times, this is important. Furthermore, there are many whom rely on the job opportunities the Colac Target venue offers; and if for whatever reason, we can't keep Target in Colac, we really need a good alternative to replace it, such as Kmart; for this region, and for Colac especially, to thrive as a shopping precinct, as well as a destination.

I am really sad to think we may loose target in Colac. Please reconsider and keep Target (much better than a kmart) and covers all areas you need. Clothes, toys, books, homewares. So important to our town for so many reasons.

The loss of target with its employment,and not replacing it with something like K mart will have a devastating effect on Colac. To have a shop of such huge dimensions empty,will go a long way to becoming a ghost town!.
