Operation Concierge Stool
We, the tenants of 27 West 96th Street, request the immediate return of a Concierge Stool in the lobby. We believe that it is a necessity for the wellbeing of our doormen, so that they may better fulfill their duties.
For many years a stool was provided, but was twice arbitrarily removed to punish one worker (who is no longer a doorman) based on the complaint of one tenant (who no longer lives here). At this point, we consider this action to be not only outdated, but outrageous.
In addition and most egregiously, nearly 11 months ago one doorman suffered a serious accident while on the job, and after an 8-month absence and continuing to experience chronic pain, he has returned to work. Considering that the injuries he sustained should never have happened, we insist that his comfort while performing his job description is a high priority.
Do the right thing. Return the Concierge Stool.
