Voting is a fundamental American right, and adequate access to voting is essential. It has received national attention that DeKalb county's poor access to early voting affected turnout dramatically for the Georgia April 18th 6th District special congressional election in DeKalb County. Please fix this by opening Chamblee, Tucker and Dunwoody sites on May 30th, 7am-7pm, with Saturday voting, for the June 20th runoff. Let everyone vote!

As a resident of DeKalb County, I was greatly disappointed by the early voting options provided for the 6th Congressional District jungle primary. All voters should be have easy access to cast their vote, be it with a location close to their home, within hours outside of the normal 8-5 working day, and with weekend options available. Voters shouldn't have to jump hurdles (i.e., travel outside their district & fight Atlanta traffic) & miss paid work time to cast a vote. Please give the voters of DeKalb who reside in the 6th District more accessible options. If cost is an issue, close down the Memorial Drive location. The numbers there did not support the costs. The money would be better spent at the three locations listed in this petition.

As a life long resident of Dekalb County I am very disappointed that there were very few early voting locations. As one of the largest counties in the state we should have had more early voting locations. As a constituent I ask you as my elected leaders to powder plan accordingly and add more extra voting locations especially with a Saturday early voting location for the runoff on June 20th. Early voting begins on May 30th. That day will be here soon. Dekalb County has been in the news negatively a lot recently. Let's please keep this positive and add the extra voting locations to allow better access to the thousands who will want to vote early to avoid long lines on June 20th. Thank you!

Tuesday elections hurt the franchise rights of working women and men. We can't change the day of the election but we should make it as convenient as possible to vote -- i.e. multiple early voting locations in the sixth district open for two weeks, including two Saturdays. voting

DeKalb's turnout was pathetic compared to Cobb. The point of early voting is to make it easier and more convenient for the voters to cast their votes. Without more convenient locations you are missing the point. It's just too important to do this half-way. Give the voters more convenient access.
