As residents of the Villages @ Huntington, we feel that there are socially responsible ways that the pool can be open. Many summer camps are closed, and Suffolk County has ruled that HOA pools can open legally.

We feel that the board is ignoring the needs of the community and depriving them of ammenties that we pay for.

Updates

June 9, 2020

The board continues to ignore our messages and hide behind excuses while the pool sits empty. I am tired of paying fees for a facility they refuse to open despite the legal green light. We have to keep applying pressure until they stop stalling and give us back our amenities.

June 9, 2020

The board can no longer pretend we are satisfied with their lazy excuses for keeping our amenities locked away. This groundswell of support proves that our community is fed up with being ignored while we pay for services we aren't getting. It is time for them to stop hiding and open the pool.

I also believe that there is a safe and equitable way to open the pool, as suggested by designating the hours / days the pool can be used by any one family/address. As we see Nassau County and Suffolk County towns start to plan to open public pools in July, it is time for our community to reconsider the same.

I think there is a safe way to open the pool by designating hours/days pool can be used by splitting community by name or odd/even numbered houses

If we are paying for it , then open the pool up. It’s an open air area . With extra safety measures we should be ok to enjoy.
