The US needs to open trade again with Canada and other sealing countries. Its not right that indigenous and non-indigenous peoples have to suffer financially because some individuals think its wrong. Its not wrong to hunt, its not wrong to feed your family, its not wrong to make a profit to give your family a better life and its not wrong to WEAR fur.  Animal Rights Activists have lied to the public for much too long.  The 1972 ban was based partly on the manufactured Artek film (skinning seals alive, later proven to be staged). The seals that are harvested are NOT endangered nor inhumanly slaughter or "skinned alive". Let's tell the US Government that we support indigenous and non-indigenous peoples and their rights!  We should be able to import any product from a non-endangered legally acquired source.  Open the seal fur trade; why should everyone else have to suffer because PeTA doesn't feel YOU have the right to purchase what you want!
