Our youth need this, parents need this!!! Why are the bars and restaurants more important than the recreation centres for our youth?

Rinks are opening everywhere. Ottawa has several multipad facilities open and a few kms away, Garineau has had ice for a month now. No reason why Kingston cannot follow the same protocals and do it safely. That os a big facility and can easily be adapted.

I just received an email on Thursday from the Recreation and Leisure Services. It stated that the INVSTA, Memorial and the Rideau Heights Centres are operating as a location for the Boys and Girls Club for summer day camps. Why can it not operate for other Summer Clubs? I was very surprised to read that, especially on the same week that my son was scheduled to be attending Ryan’s cancelled camp at the INVSTA. While I’m happy for the boys and girls club, I’m just disappointed that others are not being considered. The INVISTA could be used by more than one club. Divide it in half at least. I would be more than happy to sit in the middle of INVISTA for the day to make sure no one “crosses the line” if it meant my kids could skate. I’m sure there are many parents willing to volunteer their time to help out, if that’s what it takes.
